Solar power can be a powerful source to energy. If you plug your coffee maker into the sun you save the world from pollution from coal power, or polution from other sources that destorys our world. To much use of coal raises the climate gas production to high levels.
You can use sun beam collectors to collect heat to wam uo the coffee, no need to advanced electric equipment. Try to make a cone of metal, point the room inside towards the sun and see how much heat you collect in the point of the cone, its enough to cook water.
