Frequently asked questions (with answers)
- The pod handle won’t lock? Is the pod positioned correctly in the holder? Are you using a pod that is designed to fit your brewer?
- Pressed brew button and it doesn’t start? Check LED for info. Is the Ready indictor on? Is the handle in the locked position? Does the water reservoir need to be filled?
- There is not enough coffee in the cup? The SunCana brewer will allow you to custom program each of the volume settings to your personal preference. Please refer to the MY Cup Calibration on page 9 of your owners manual.
- Water is leaking from the pod holder? It is important to place the coffee pod in the centre of the holder with the pillow side down. When you lock the handle down there will be slight pressure. Too much pressure may indicate that you are using a pod with too much volume or the pod is out of position.
- My brewer won’t prime? Is the brewer in the ‘Standby’ mode? Make sure the water reservoir is full and the float is moving freely. Is the pod tray inserted fully? The handle should be in the locked position.
- Is filtered water important? Yes, when ever possible you should use filtered water for best results and long life of your brewer.
- What is the procedure to ready the SunCana / SunCafe for first use? You need to prime the machine first.
- Can I adjust the coffee temperature? Yes you can. Before changing settings, make sure the brewer is in “standby” mode. Press “VOLUME” button 3 times rapidly, ensuring that this is done within 3 seconds, then press “BREW” button. This will take you into the temperature “set up” mode. - Can I adjust the coffee quantity? Yes you can!
- Are coffee pods environmentally friendly? Yes they are! Most coffee pods are biodegradable and compostable. The box is also recyclable cardboard. We are trying very hard to lessen our footprint on the environment and are always looking at ways to make all our packaging biodegradable and compostable.
- Can I make hot chocolate or cup a soup? Yes you can – hot water is available at the press of a button – so scoop the hot chocolate in your mug, or empty a packet of instant soup. Mix and enjoy.
- I like my coffee really strong. Can I make it stronger? Yes! You can make your coffee both stronger or weaker. By setting the water volume level high or low, it will make the coffee the way you like it. For very strong coffee, set the volume to 5 oz – for weaker coffee adjust up to as high as 12 oz. - Coffee doesn’t come out after press “Brew” button Tips: Please keep the center hole of pod holder unhindered or it might cause short cups or leaking. Brush and rinse the stainless steel pod holder under the running water a few times to clear out any possible clogging. Make sure the handle arm was pressed down to the “Lock” position.
- LCD shows “E” and Coffee doesn’t come out The brewer must be Primed for the first time using. Please refer to the Quick Start or Manual for the instruction. Turn off the power and leave it for couple more hours until it cools off. Primed it again. If it still shows “E”, the brewer might have been damaged.
- The display says ‘Check waterlevel’ but there is enough water. If you have cleaned the water container, please make sure that the floater is put back in place with the arrow pointing upwards. If the arrow points down, the sensor will not be able to determine that there is enough water in the container.
